West Boca Raton opens the 2026 season at No. 14 in the T25PS Public Schools Preseason Top 100 after winning another Florida state championship and returning one of the strongest roster profiles in the country.
The Bulls went 13-2 last season, finished as Florida state champions and now return 14 starters — seven on offense and seven on defense. That level of continuity matters, especially for a program trying to win its third straight state championship.
West Boca Raton’s goal is clear. In the program’s 2026 submission, head coach Dylan Potts said:
“The goal is very clear cut. Win our 3rd State Championship in a row and cement ourselves as the #1 Public School program in the country.”
That is the standard entering 2026.
The Bulls have key production to replace, but they also bring back a strong core led by 2027 quarterback Trey Moran, linebacker Max Reid, defensive tackle Jamar Thompson, wide receiver Billy Clancy III, offensive lineman Gavin Cigale, defensive end Javion Herrington and defensive back CJ Jackson.
West Boca Raton starts inside the national top 15 because the roster has enough returning talent, defensive continuity and championship experience to stay in the Florida title race. That path will be tougher in 2026, with the FHSAA moving to an Open Division model that should create a more difficult championship bracket.

Why They’re Ranked Here
Returning starters, championship momentum and program confidence.
West Boca Raton starts at No. 14 because the Bulls return 14 starters from a state championship team.
The roster has balance. Seven starters return on offense and seven return on defense, giving West Boca Raton one of the better continuity profiles in the national top 25.
The Bulls do have major players to replace. Javian Mallory, Jaydin Broadnax and Grant Edmond are key graduation losses with Mallory is headed to Miami, Broadnax to Louisville and Edmond to Wagner.
Even with those losses, West Boca Raton has enough back to make another state-title run. Trey Moran gives the Bulls a returning quarterback to build around, and the defense brings back several important names in the front seven and secondary.
The ranking is based on the full profile: back-to-back championship momentum, 14 returning starters, a returning quarterback, defensive continuity and a clear program goal of winning a third straight state title.
Players to Know
Trey Moran — QB, 2027
Moran is one of the most important players on the roster. As a 2027 quarterback, he gives West Boca Raton a returning option at the most important position on the field. With 14 starters back around him, Moran has a chance to lead one of the top public-school teams in Florida.
Jamar Thompson — DT
Thompson is one of the key returning players on the defensive front. West Boca Raton returns seven defensive starters, and the interior defensive line should be an important part of the Bulls’ 2026 identity.
Max Reid — LB, 2027
Reid is one of the top returning defensive players for West Boca Raton. He is listed as both a key player and an under-the-radar name, and he should be part of the defensive core as the Bulls chase another state championship.
Billy Clancy III — WR
Clancy is one of the key returning offensive players for the Bulls. With Trey Moran back at quarterback, Clancy gives West Boca Raton a returning receiver to build with in the passing game.
Gavin Cigale — OL
Cigale is a confirmed returning offensive lineman and one of the most important players up front. West Boca Raton has championship expectations, and the offensive line will be a major part of whether the Bulls can stay balanced.
Javion Herrington — DE
Herrington gives West Boca Raton another returning front-seven piece. The Bulls’ defense should again be one of the strengths of the team, and Herrington is part of that returning group.
CJ Jackson — DB
Jackson is one of the key returning defensive backs. West Boca Raton returns seven defensive starters, and the secondary will be important against the schedule the Bulls are facing.
Terriel Harmon — RB/ATH, 2028
Harmon is listed among the top players to watch and gives West Boca Raton another young offensive name with upside.
Jamir Johnson — DE, 2027
Johnson is another defensive end to watch. The Bulls should have multiple defensive front pieces capable of keeping the defense at a championship level.
Loia Valade — DB, 2027
Valade is listed as one of the top players to watch and gives West Boca Raton another name in the secondary.
Quinton Miller Jr. — RB, 2027
Miller is another player to watch in the backfield. West Boca Raton will need its run game to help keep pressure off the passing game and keep the offense balanced.
Key Games
Miami Carol City — Aug. 14
West Boca Raton opens with Miami Carol City. This is the first chance to see how the returning core looks after another state championship season.
American Heritage — Aug. 21
The Bulls travel to American Heritage in Week 2. This is the biggest early measuring-stick game on the schedule and a major test for a team trying to prove it belongs in the national public-school top 15.
Atlantic — Week 11
Atlantic is listed as West Boca Raton’s rivalry game. By this point, the Bulls should have their offensive identity settled and their playoff rotation established.
Biggest Question
The biggest question is whether West Boca Raton can replace its key graduation losses and still stay at a championship level while navigating the chance to play in the first FHSAA Open Division playoff.
If the returning core takes another step, West Boca Raton has the roster to win a third straight state championship and go down in the history books and the first true champ of Florida.
T25PS Prediction
Regular Season Prediction: 10-0
Postseason Prediction: Open Division Champs
Bottom Line
West Boca Raton is ranked No. 14, but has every opportunity to put themselves in the National Title picture even without any out of state games due to the Open division and playing Miami Carol City and American Heritage in the regular season.
If the Bulls reload around their returning leaders, they can win Florida again.
