2026 Preview
Nate Moore begins his 12th year with the kind of roster base coaches want when they schedule nationally. Massillon returns 26 lettermen, including eight offensive starters and nine defensive starters, after falling one score short of a Division II state semifinal.
Mandwel Patterson enters camp as the returning starting quarterback, while Michigan State commit Savior Owens is the player who can tilt a game out of the backfield. Gio Jackson Jr. and Deontay Malone give the Tigers returning threats on the outside, and Malone can help in the secondary too.
Then there is the schedule, which may be my favorite schedule in the country this year. If you've been following me for awhile you know that I LOVE a quality out-of-state game for the top teams, so you know I love two games against international teams PLUS three out-of-state opponents. They will play at NFL Academy (London, UK) and Football North (Canada). They also will play Canisius (NY), Farrell (PA), and Cornerstone Christian (TX) while also dealing with in-state foes St. Edward, Glenville, GlenOak, Warren Harding and Canton McKinley. This is about as difficult of a schedule a team can make, and I love everything about it.
