Team Snapshot **School:** Raines (FL) **Head Coach:** Donovan Masline **Classification:** FHSAA Class 3A, Region 1, District 3 **2025 Finish:** 14–0; FHSAA Class 3A state champion, beating Miami Northwestern 23–22 in the state final. 2026 Preview Raines is the defending Class 3A champion, but this is not a victory-lap schedule. Donovan Masline has to replace title-winning quarterback Timothy Cole while carrying a group that will get every opponent’s best shot. Troy Butler is back off the edge and gives the Vikings a defender who can change a game before an offense gets comfortable. At quarterback, 2029 prospect Sa’Mon Ellison-Morgan is the next young name to watch as Raines works through the transition after Cole graduated. Oakleaf, Mandarin, Venice, Bishop Kenny and Cocoa are all on the schedule. That is exactly what a championship program should want: difficult games early enough to teach the new group what the standard looks like when it is under pressure. Repeating is hard when a championship quarterback graduates, but the defensive foundation gives Raines a real chance to make another deep run. One thing to note: I see Central or Mooney getting into the Open division. If they both stay in 3A, I think it will be tough for Raines to make another title game appearance. Conclusion Raines has already proved it can win the close one. The 2026 question is whether the next quarterback can settle in before the national-level part of the schedule hits.
