What I will be watching is how LaBelle handles the progression from a game against Frostproof on Aug. 21 to a game against Avon Park on Sept. 25 and then a road game at Bonita Springs on Oct. 23. I care as much about the response from one game to the next as I do about any single result.

Can LaBelle carry its regular-season control through the final postseason game?
The case starts with Aldrich Meyer, Jacobo Perez, Marquay and Jacquay Bradshaw. The regular season can build confidence, but close postseason games will expose whether the details are ready for a title standard. We should have a much clearer answer after a game against Oasis on Sept. 4.

I have LaBelle finishing 8-1 and returning to the Atlantic State Championship. Frostproof and Lemon Bay are the two most demanding games, and five road dates leave less margin for error. Bradshaw, Campbell and 15 returning starters give the Cowboys enough proven production to remain the team to beat on most of the schedule.
