The first major test is a road game at Estero on Aug. 21. From there, a game against South Fort Myers on Aug. 27 keeps the early schedule moving, while a road game at Immokalee on Oct. 23 and a game against Lehigh on Oct. 30 shape the final stretch.

Levi McKenzie, ATH/S/WR, Class of 2027
McKenzie is committed to Vanderbilt and is the most prominent recruit in the returning group. McKenzie's experience in the secondary matters against the strongest passing teams on the schedule.
Aiden Boyd, DB/WR, Class of 2027
Boyd holds an offer from Bowling Green. Boyd gives Riverdale another experienced option on the back end of the defense.
Jacorie Darrisaw, DB, Class of 2027
Darrisaw holds an offer from Georgia State. Riverdale will lean on Darrisaw to make the secondary more dependable in high-leverage downs.
Josiah Bataille, RB, Class of 2028
Bataille gives the backfield another way to stay ahead of the chains.
Kaleb McIntyre, DL/FB, Class of 2027
McIntyre holds an offer from Minot State. Riverdale needs McIntyre to create difficult downs before opponents can settle into their offense.
Kymoni Gordon, LB, Class of 2027
Gordon holds an offer from Citadel. Riverdale can use Gordon's linebacker experience as a stabilizing piece in the front seven.
Latroy Pender, DB, Class of 2027
Pender's recruitment includes 13 college offers. Pender's experience in the secondary matters against the strongest passing teams on the schedule.

Can Riverdale replace enough of its 12-win production to remain in Florida's state-semifinal tier?
I keep coming back to Levi McKenzie, Aiden Boyd and Jacorie Darrisaw when I look at Riverdale's 2026 ceiling. The first month has to reveal which new contributors can handle full varsity roles without asking the proven players to carry every snap. We should have a much clearer answer after a road game at Bishop Verot on Sept. 4.

I have Riverdale finishing 9-1 and winning another district title. The defense should remain one of the stronger units in Southwest Florida, but trips to Bishop Verot and Cypress Lake will test the rebuilt offense before district play is complete.
