Carol City gets postseason ban, 15 players suspended after Grayson fight

Miami Carol City has been barred from the postseason and 15 players have been suspended following its postgame fight with Grayson, according to Andy Villamarzo of On3/Rivals.

Citing an FHSAA sanctions letter he obtained, Villamarzo reported that four players were suspended for the rest of the season, nine for five games and two for one game.

The program received restrictive probation, a $1,500 fine and a postseason ban for the 2026–27 school year.

Carol City plans to appeal Thursday ahead of its game against Miami Northwestern, according to Villamarzo. His report did not include an appeal ruling.

The fight followed Grayson’s 10–9 win in Loganville on October 2. The altercation broke out during the postgame handshake line.

Four Grayson players received one-game suspensions from the Georgia High School Association. Grayson plans to appeal, and no outcome has been confirmed. Those penalties are separate from the FHSAA sanctions against Carol City.

The Chiefs were already under administrative probation from a separate eligibility case. that Carol City was fined $3,700 and required to forfeit its regular-season win over Mainland and preseason win over West Boca Raton. That administrative probation runs through September 1, 2027.
