Dayton Dunbar set for two varsity football games in two days
Thursday’s game against Cincinnati Northwest is followed by Friday’s makeup matchup with Stivers.

Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio, is scheduled to play two varsity football games on consecutive days this week: Cincinnati Northwest on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Stivers on Friday, Oct. 9.
Dunbar athletic director Deondra Wynn confirmed the two-game schedule, according to USA TODAY.
Thursday’s game against visiting Northwest is set for 6 p.m. Eastern. The Stivers matchup kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday at Welcome Stadium, restoring a canceled Week 2 game between the Dayton schools.
Dayton Public Schools initially canceled the remainder of Stivers’ season, citing low participation and injuries. The district reversed that decision after meeting with parents and staff, and Stivers returned under a revised schedule that included the Dunbar makeup game.
That left the Wolverines with a Thursday-Friday stretch. Dunbar enters the week 3–3, with its next game after Stivers scheduled for Oct. 17 against Thurgood Marshall.
