#11 Massillon’s eligibility dispute carries major lineup stakes
OHSAA denied transfer exceptions for the Feister brothers. Their availability and other unresolved cases could affect one of the nation’s top public-school teams.

MASSILLON, Ohio — Massillon Washington is #11 in the T25PS national public-school rankings, and its transfer-eligibility dispute could affect the lineup that tries to keep the Tigers among the nation’s best.
A preliminary-injunction hearing was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Stark County Common Pleas Court. T25PS had not independently confirmed its outcome as of 1:07 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 6. The eligibility decisions and court protection described below reflect reporting published before that hearing.
The case involves six players. In its Oct. 5 report, The Repository described different outcomes for their transfer requests. OHSAA denied transfer exceptions for brothers Brayton and Brydon Feister on Sept. 28, according to The Repository’s reporting on an Oct. 2 court filing. Da’Shun Williams had been approved for the full season. Applications for Micah Walker, Gary Yeager and Dey’Veair Adams remained unresolved in that report. The Repository
The brothers’ denials became the subject of new coverage Monday, Oct. 5. The decisions themselves came a week earlier.
A temporary restraining order issued Sept. 25 in Stark County Common Pleas Court allowed the players to compete while the dispute moved forward. Their families filed suit that day, seeking protection as transfer reviews remained unresolved. The order provided temporary protection; it did not settle their eligibility for the rest of the season.
