Friday Night Preview: Allen, Centennial Lead a Loaded Week 4 Slate

#5 Allen at #35 Southlake Carroll - Texas

Allen has been one of the biggest early-season risers in the country.

The Eagles opened by beating Duncanville 26-7 and followed it by absolutely dismantling defending Texas 6A Division II champion DeSoto 50-6.

Now comes another test.

Southlake Carroll is coming off a 40-10 loss to #4 North Crowley, but this is still one of Texas' premier programs and the Dragons are back home. If Allen handles another quality opponent tonight, the conversation may shift from whether #5 is too high to whether it isn't high enough.

#7 Centennial (CA) at Mater Dei - Cali

This one doesn't need much explanation.

Centennial finally broke through against Mater Dei last season, and then did it again in the playoffs.

The Huskies enter 1-1 after a one-point loss to Santa Margarita, while Mater Dei is 3-0. Another Centennial win would make it three straight over one of the biggest programs in high school football.

#41 Lee County at #69 Colquitt County - GA

Lee County is 3-0 and already owns a comeback win over Carol City.

Colquitt got blown out by #2 Thomas County Central in Week 1 but has responded by outscoring its last two opponents 90-6.

This should tell us quite a bit about both teams.

#56 Jenks vs. #26 Bixby - OK

One of Oklahoma's biggest rivalries gets another chapter.

Bixby has won eight consecutive state championships, but Jenks has already shown it can be the program capable of interrupting the machine.
