Georgia’s final seconds: North Gwinnett escapes, Colquitt stuns Lowndes
A 43-yard kick in Suwanee and a touchdown with eight seconds left in Moultrie changed two regular-season finales.

Georgia’s final Friday of the regular season came down to two teams refusing to leave their opponents with the last word.
In Suwanee, North Gwinnett turned an onside recovery into a winning field goal. In Moultrie, Colquitt County answered a late Lowndes touchdown with one of its own. Both games were still changing in the final seconds, and both carried consequences beyond the scoreboard.
Rogers finishes North Gwinnett’s escape
Wesley Rogers’ 43-yard field goal at expiration gave North Gwinnett a 57–55 win over Parkview. The sophomore’s kick followed a frantic sequence in which Christian Jackson scored on a 5-yard jet sweep with 1:42 left, then caught Elam Rahman’s touchdown pass with 21 seconds remaining.
Neither touchdown produced a successful two-point conversion. Parkview still led 55–54 after the second attempt was knocked down, only for freshman Colten Coblentz to recover the onside kick and give Rogers his chance.
Parkview had nearly settled matters between those scores. Kevin Caldwell’s 80-yard touchdown run put the Panthers ahead 55–48. The Bulldogs had to score, recover possession and score again without much clock to work with.
North Gwinnett finished the regular season 9–1; Parkview finished 7–3. The result also helped Brookwood secure the region title.
Colquitt answers one more time
Colquitt County’s 23–20 win ended Lowndes’ unbeaten season, but the Packers had to regain the lead twice in the fourth quarter to do it.
