Oklahoma turned out to be one of the easier states to rank at the top, especially compared to Ohio.
Ohio was difficult because public school dynasties were spread across the lower divisions, while the larger classification titles had to be weighed significantly more due to the path they had to go through, including major private schools.
Oklahoma is different.
Here, the story starts with two clear dynasties in the top classifications, and a 3rd in one of the smaller classifications.
At the highest level, Bixby has completely owned the state, even reaching as high as #1 in the country according the Massey/On3 rankings.
It is very similar to what we talked about in Nevada with Bishop Gorman — Bixby seems to be head and shoulders above their in-state competition.
Meanwhile, Carl Albert has done the exact same thing slightly below in 5A, building one of the most dominant public-school runs in the country.
Then, when you factor in Washington's success in 2A it makes picking the top three much easier than Ohio.
Where this state became much more difficult was the 4 and 5 spots, where multiple programs had legitimate cases based on class weight, championships, and runner-up finishes.

This was the defining dynasty of Oklahoma football during this era.
Five titles in five seasons at the top of the state makes this a no-brainer.

If Bixby did not exist, Carl Albert would be the headline story.
Four straight 5A state championships is an incredible run, and when you stack that on top of the program’s historical dominance, it becomes one of the strongest résumés in the country.
The only reason they are not No. 1 is because Bixby’s dynasty occurred one classification higher and with even more hardware.
Still, four straight in 5A leaves no debate for the No. 2 spot.
Verdict:
A dynasty in its own right, just overshadowed by Bixby’s historic run.

Why they’re here
This is where the rankings begin to get more nuanced.
Washington’s case comes down to pure hardware and consistency.
Three state championships and another runner-up finish in a five-year window is simply too strong to ignore.
Even with the class being lower than 4A and 5A, that level of year-over-year dominance carries massive weight.
They were the most dominant lower-class public program in Oklahoma during this stretch.
Verdict:
Elite consistency and three titles secure the No. 3 spot.

Why they’re here
This is where the debate got difficult.
Wagoner’s résumé is not as title-heavy as Washington’s, but the biggest argument in their favor is 4A class weight.
A championship plus another finals appearance in 4A carries serious value in Oklahoma.
They consistently remained one of the state’s most respected public programs throughout this stretch and had multiple years where they were in legitimate championship contention.
Verdict:
4A success and sustained relevance keep them narrowly inside the top 4.

Why they got the final spot
This was the hardest ranking in the state.
Tuttle ultimately gets the nod because their résumé combines:
a state championship
two additional title-game appearances
all in 4A
That final point is what separated them from some of the lower-class contenders and one-year peaks.
The 2025 breakthrough title was the finishing touch that pushed them into the top five.
Verdict:
The toughest call on the board, but the 4A title plus two runner-up finishes gives them the edge.
