Quince Orchard Has Allowed Six Points. Now the Playoffs Begin.

Nine games. Eight shutouts. Six points allowed.

Quince Orchard's defense has made scoring an unusual event this fall. Richard Montgomery gets the next chance to break through Friday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.

The 9-0 Cougars, #46 in the T25PS national public-school Top 100, host the 2-7 Rockets in the 4A West playoffs. The school athletics listing confirms the home kickoff.

QO has outscored opponents 339-6, but its 9-0 win over Sherwood showed the defense can hold up without a big offensive cushion. The Cougars are chasing a third consecutive state title.

Richard Montgomery's last four games included wins over Wootton, 52-27, and Rockville, 24-0, and losses to Gaithersburg, 21-19, and Sherwood, 49-14. Junior quarterback Davis Bowen threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns against Sherwood, with two interceptions.

QO quarterback Carter Dailey enters after throwing for 243 yards and three touchdowns against Gaithersburg. Ball security remains worth watching: he lost a fumble and threw two interceptions in the earlier 20-6 win at Stone Bridge.

Players to Know
