The records need context. Friendship Collegiate is 3-1 through four played games, most recently beating St. Georges Tech 26-6. Roanoke Catholic is officially 3-0, but that record includes one played win — 43-37 in overtime at Trinity Episcopal — and two 2-0 forfeit wins. Friday will be only the Celtics' second played game.

Friendship's 2026 Teams to Know roster has held every opponent to 14 points or fewer, with Kemontae Chaplin leading an athletic defense. Roanoke Catholic's one live-game sample ran through KaMharie “Zhiy” Steelman, who rushed for 265 yards. After two forfeits interrupted first-year coach Brett Jones' schedule, can that run game control enough of Friday against Friendship's speed?

#24 Northwestern (SC) (3-1) at South Pointe (SC) (2-1)

South Pointe beat Northwestern 27-23 last season, evening this Rock Hill crosstown series at 11-11. The 23rd meeting comes with the teams on sharply different recent paths. Northwestern lost its opener to Hough 15-10, then scored 54, 68 and 67 points in three straight wins. South Pointe opened 2-0 while allowing seven total points against Nation Ford and Lake Wylie. Rock Hill then held the Stallions to three points in a 26-3 loss.

Quarterback Xavier Means drives the Northwestern offense, creating as a passer or runner, with Coastal Carolina commit Malik Ratliff as his leading target. Once Northwestern finds its tempo and explosive-play game, the score moves quickly. Clemson commit Seth Tillman gives South Pointe a defensive centerpiece, but the Stallions also need their offense to keep Northwestern off the field. Can South Pointe limit the explosives and avoid the early three-and-outs that would let the score get away?

#2 Thomas County Central (GA) (4-0) at #20 Lee County (GA) (4-0)

This is the weekend headliner across the country: two 4-0 teams, two Top 20 T25PS programs and a major early test in the Region 2-6A race. Both offenses average more than 430 yards per game — 435.5 for Thomas County Central and 449.3 for Lee County in the available totals. Thomas County Central has outscored four opponents 224-42, including a 57-21 win over Colquitt County and a 69-0 win over Brooks County. Lee County followed a 23-20 win over Miami Carol City with 43 points against Sequoyah and 48 against Colquitt County. Three of Lee County's four wins have included at least 43 points.

Quarterback Aidan McPherson adds 65.3 rushing yards per game to the Thomas County Central offense, Jordan McNeil gives the Yellow Jackets a proven back and Arkansas commit Jabari Watkins stretches the field. That balance, backed by the strong line and deep defense detailed in the T25PS preseason profile, has kept the Jackets ahead of the chains and opponents chasing the game.

Lee County's answer is one of the best receiving groups on the slate. Texas A&M commit Jaden Upshaw is averaging 111.8 receiving yards per game in the available totals and has six touchdown catches. Clemson commit Carter Blackwell gives the Trojans another big target, while Quay Sheard is averaging 80.3 yards on the ground.

The central question: Can Lee County protect long enough to get Upshaw and Blackwell involved consistently while preventing McPherson and the Thomas County Central run game from controlling down-and-distance? Thomas County Central won 35-21 last year after Lee County took the 2024 meeting 35-23. Friday decides the next turn in the series with both teams unbeaten and ranked in the T25PS Top 20.
