2026 Preseason Top 100 Season Preview: No. 98 Dickinson (TX)
Dickinson follows a 13-win regional-final run with a current core led by Lorenzo Aguirre, Kaileb Peterson, Jayse Washington and Royce Bimage.

Dickinson won 13 games in 2025 and came within one round of the Texas Class 6A Division I state semifinals. That season raised the standard and left the next group with significant production to replace.
Lorenzo Aguirre, Kaileb Peterson, Jayse Washington and 2028 defensive back Royce Bimage now take on larger responsibility. The returning core is smaller than last season's, but it is talented enough to keep the Gators in the regional conversation.
Team Snapshot
Team: Dickinson Gators
Location: Dickinson, Texas
Head Coach: John Snelson
2025 Record: 13-1
2025 Finish: UIL Class 6A Division I regional finalist
T25PS Ranking: No. 98
Keeping the Regional Standard
Aguirre, Peterson and Washington give John Snelson three established players around whom the next team can be organized. The challenge is not recreating a 13-win roster one-for-one. It is preserving the habits that made Dickinson capable of surviving close, high-level games.
Bimage is the young recruit who can raise the ceiling. He is a 2028 corner with a broad Division I offer list, but the Gators need varsity consistency more than a collection of logos. His ability to handle difficult matchups would let the defense be more aggressive elsewhere.
The schedule will show quickly whether Dickinson has reloaded or is still replacing last year's production. I will be watching the line play and the offense's ability to avoid empty possessions. If those areas remain stable, the Gators have enough current talent to stay in the regional picture.
Players to Know
Lorenzo Aguirre
Aguirre is one of the central current returners and gives Dickinson a known piece as it replaces production from a 13-win team.
Kaileb Peterson
Peterson will be asked to help carry the standard established during last season's regional-final run.
Jayse Washington
Washington gives the Gators another returning player around whom the 2026 rotation can be built.
Royce Bimage, CB, Class of 2028
Bimage owns a broad Division I offer list. His coverage ability and growth make him one of Dickinson's most important young players.

Biggest Question
Can Dickinson replace last year's senior production without losing the composure that carried it to 13 wins?
The recruiting talent is helpful, but composure comes from roles being clear. Aguirre, Peterson and Washington must give the Gators dependable weekly production, and Bimage has to turn his upside into disciplined coverage. If that happens, Dickinson can remain dangerous while the rest of the roster matures.
Bottom Line
I am not expecting the 2026 team to be a copy of last year's regional finalist. I am expecting Dickinson to remain difficult to eliminate. The current core is smaller than last season's, but it is talented enough to keep the Gators relevant.
