#10 Venice (FL) (6–0) at #30 Raines (FL) (5–0)
Friday, 6:30 PM ET · Raines, Jacksonville, Florida
Venice (FL) has already survived overtime road games at Rabun Gap (GA) and Lakeland (FL). Raines (FL) carries 30 consecutive regular-season wins into Friday after an open week. Their unbeaten records have been built in different parts of Florida; Friday brings them onto the same field.
The Vikings’ defense registered seven sacks in its September 18 win over Mandarin (FL), 31–13, while quarterback Sa’Mon Ellison-Morgan added two rushing touchdowns. Venice (FL) answered Sarasota (FL) 57–33 last week behind Dorien Irving-Jones, who rushed for 208 yards and three scores. Venice (FL) is dealing with Tyree Mannings’ September 4 injury at Lakeland (FL); no public return timetable has been established. Keeping that running game productive would help the Indians avoid the long-yardage situations in which Raines (FL) can attack the passer.
